CNY Potluck Gathering

Every year, i will have gathering with my group of gfs. This year, we made something different, we had potluck gathering instead of normal yam cha session gathering.

Again, i was working on 5th day of CNY. In fact, i started work on 4th CNY. We had our potluck gathering at Chee Chin a.k.a. lady boss and owner of Venus Station. I went to Venus Station straight after work because it is just nearby my office.

Here are what we have….

n780923121_1365260_8007

Chocolate cake from Dinah. The cake is not made by her la, it was actually ready bought from somewhere else. hehe

n780923121_1365261_8424

Fried meehoon from Lai Yen’s mom.

n780923121_1365262_88392

Watermelon from Chee Chin. Chee Chin not only bought watermelon, but also sponsored all the drinks from her shop. And the most important thing is, a cosy place for our gathering, Venus Station. Thank you Abu!!!! =)

n780923121_1365263_9250

Very nice guava from Yea Huey. She should make more guava because it is so good until we were craving for it!

n780923121_1365349_3877

Melaka best wantan mee from Siow Fei and Hsiau Hwei. Both of them, especially Siow Fei had been craving for wan tan mee for ages.

n780923121_1365348_3437

Fried salad “yu tiao” from Siow Fei and Hsiau Hwei too.

n780923121_1365350_4302

Otak-otak all the way from Muar, from Chun Sia.

Not only these, we also have fried oyster. Just the photo taken after Siow Fei ate half way, so it was kinda disgusting. haha..Yok Suan brought red wine and whisky. And how about me? I brought myself! =P

I didn’t know what to bring and i was working on that day. No time to do any preparation of food. I called up Hsiau Hwei and she told me my job is finish the food tonight! So, conclusion, i did not make or bring anything. Hehe.

n780923121_1365352_5181

With all my sisters again, only me in working attire! >_<

n780923121_1365372_3544

Group photo. We were all enjoyed the so-called potluck gathering. It was fun, eating, chit-chatting and taking photos. The most importantly, this year we had our gathering at Chee Chin’s Venus Station, where we all conquered the place!! No business that night. :-P

I’m looking forward another gathering with my gfs, probably birthday gathering, who next?

Chee Chin’s Birthday

This is an outdated post. Chee Chin’s birthday on 11/1/2009. Let me recall what happened. It was my idea to hold a surprise birthday gathering for Chee Chin a.k.a. Abu. I text-ed everyone about this. And i’m happy that most of them able to make it. Siow Fei so wanted to join us. She was working in KL but kept ask us to hold the gathering on Saturday instead of Sunday. But due to everyone has confirmed on Sunday, we could not make it on Saturday. Anyway…… Siow Fei able to join us no matter how! :D She brought togather all her luggage with her and joined us for dinner before she went back to KL.

I was working overtime in office on that day. I ordered the birthday cake in advance. I went to pick up the cake and reached Cosmo Noodle Bar before everyone reached. I requested the staff to present the cake to the birthday cake after our dinner. Dinah brought Chee Chin to meet us up. Chee Chin still did not know what was going on until she saw my car parked outside Cosmo Noodle Bar.

the-cake

Rich american chocolate cake from Ambridge Cottage (again). This time, i topped up RM20 for the decoration. Don’t you think the cake is very adorable and lovely? The staff presented the cake with a big plate and they even played Happy Birthday song to Chee Chin!!

chee-chin

Chee Chin, the birthday gal. =)

FMIL’s birthday

Yesterday i was having great and happy family dinner with hubby’s family; we were celebrating FMIL’s birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, FMIL

Actually we were rushing back from KL to attend the birthday dinner.

Chiow Ching asked hubby to look for one restaurant and buy a cake. Hubby was too busy with his work, and of course i’m very willing to help him on this! :-) I was thinking so hard to buy what cake. Initially i wanted to order chocolate cake from Ambridge Cottage because the chocolate is very rich-chocolate, but not too sweet as well. But dear didn’t want chocolate. So, finally i ordered carrot cake from Ambridge Cottage. At first, i’m so worried that some of them would not like it, but Agnes’s mum and Agnes herself keep assured me that their carrot cake is very well-liked and mostly elderly people. So, i gave it a try. I topped up another RM5 for simple topping deco (just some fresh flowers).

Yes, Ambridge Cottage never dissappoint me! The carrot cake is good. I’m happy that everyone of them compliments on the cake i chose. I seeing FFIL was taking the cream to eat. He even asked why the cream tasted so good, different with normal cake’s cream. Hui Ling told me that actually mum loves chocolate cake. Oh..oh…i take note of this. Next time i should order chocolate cake, don’t care if hubby likes it or not. :-P

Oh…i forgot to mention where we had our dinner. This was our tough part when thinking where to have dinner. Me and hubby were thinking one whole day. At first, i suggested Teo Soon Loong, but hubby said it is pricey. Rejected. :-( Shortlisted a few, then finally we chose Fei Li Restaurant ar Ayer Keroh. Good choice because none of us try before, except hubby. But this restaurant is very well known already, and i actually wanted to try so long!!! The service here is very good and comparable to hotel service i mind you! Really good. They only serves halal food, no pork. But we were almost having seafood dinner here. :-)

What i love most is their signature dishes, cheesie mee hoon with big prawns. It is really good. The cheesie is not too strong cheesie taste, but you will want to have to take the cheesie soup alone! But this cheesie mee hoon with big prawns cost us RM84!!! It is the most expensive mee hoon i had ever! But still i think it is worth! haha

We also ordered creamy crabs upon recommendation by the captain. But i don’t really favour this. I still prefer the grilled crab at Seremban. ;-)

Other dishes are, steamed fresh fish (i do not know what the fish name, sorry), ginger wine kampung chicken (everyone commented very good, especially FMIL), sambal sotong (very good if eat togather with rice, but eat alone like this also very good) and sabah vegetables ( claimed one of the most famous dishes here, but honestly, not too bad either).

Errr, i truly enjoyed the dinner. I’m very happy looking everyone enjoying the food and cake. Okay, actually i’m very simple, as long as we can get togather and have dinner, i’m very happy and appreciate the moment. I do not mind if you want me to look for restaurant or buy a cake, i’m very willing to do so, as long as everyone happy! Nature of cancerian i guess, family bonded type.

I’m actually thinking to organize a family trip togather. I’m really looking for it. But wondering if everyone can make it or not, and i’m sure it will be very fun.

Hari Raya Dinner

Okay…this is a continuous of the previous post. Dinner time.

This was the day where you unable to get any food to eat even though you have money!!! Everywhere we went were fully packed. Let me recall….

1st stop…. Tandoori chicken @ Kota Laksamana – [closed]

2nd stop…. Satay celup @ Jalan Ong Kim Wee – [fully packed...don't even try your luch at Capitol Satay Celup because i can assured you it was much worst than here]

3rd stop…. Teo Soon Loong Chan restaurant – [fully booked, the boss asked us come back tomorrow -.-]

4th stop – Seafood @ Portuguese Settlement – [every shop lots packed with people, every bosses told us need to wait for more than an hour 0_o ]

5th stop – Nyonya food @ Melaka Raya – [ we went to few restaurants and everyone of them was fully booked and some even said finished]

6th stop – finally i brought them to have western food bah….haha…Cosmo Noodle Bar. Only this one would never tell us it is fully booked or finished. So, we just settled our dinner here. FINALLY…. after round and round for more than an hour…we got a place to settle down for dinner. hahaha

Hazelnut milkshake and teh tarik cold. When the hazelnut milkshake is served, we were all wondering what’s drink is that, until the waitress told us it is hazelnut milkshake. We were wondering why the color is white instead of brown / coffee? Teh tarik cold is for Ching, who never bored having teh tarik cold or teh ais. But this teh tarik cold consists of clear sago inside.

Flower tea, Globes Osmanthus Jasmine and Apple Rose Jasmine for me and Swei. Ate too much for the day. The flower tea could help us to detox and reduce the heat and excess fats, i suppose. hehe..

Mini pork bun. Of course highly recommended by me. hehe.. This is really licking good!!

This is porklet, ham and mushroom with rice for Ching. The taste is just like “wa tan hor”. haha..

Fried spaghetti with special sausage for Lijun. Actually the so-called special sausage is taiwan sausage. Lijun commented it is too spicy.

Udon with tuna and cheese for Swei. I suppose Swei loves cheese a lot. She loves cheese mille crepes and she even ordered udon with cheese. It’s too cheesy for me. :-(

Quite some time i’m not having tomyam dy. So i ordered thai style vermicelli in tomyam soup. My friends also commented that the soup is pretty good! hehe

Recommended by the waitress, fried crispy wantons with shrimps. Actually the taste is exactly like the fried carrot, just the ingredients different. Nothing special. Mini pork bun and fried fries is better.

The bill footed at RM82.05. Average RM20 per person. So it’s consider ok for us. By the way, the bill was settled by Lijun. A big thank you to you!!! hahaha…

After that, i quickly sent them back to Jusco as Ching’s car was parked there. They safely reached KL about 12-1am.

I really enjoyed the small gathering, chit chatting and makan makan session this round. Hope you all enjot too. :-)

Hari Raya Outing

My college friends came visiting me on the first day of Hari Raya. It was quite some time we did not meet each other due to work commitment. Ching drove all the way from KL, with Swei and Lijun to meet me. I’m glad that they took some time to visit me in Melaka.

Basically, this was our makan makan and chit chat time. They reached Melaka quite early, about 9am something. I picked them up at Jusco and brought them for breakfast. I brought them to Yong Mao Coffee Shop for dim sum breakfast, as Swei and Lijun have yet try the dim sum here before. Of course i recommended them the glutinous rice wrapped with “he ye” or we called it “he ye fan”. ^_^

After that i wanted to take them to ride the Taming Sari Tower beside Dataran Pahlawan. But it was closed due to public holiday. What a stupid thing i think because there were more tourists would wanna take this ride due to public holiday! Then, i brought them to have a coffee at Good Morning Vietnam. Yes….i simply love the ice coffee there.

More varieties of menu compared to last time, such as cupcakes. But i was dissappointed as there was no cupcake on that day. :-( Nee told me that the cupcakes here not bad especially the chocolate cupcakes. I purposely come here for ice coffee and cupcakes. :-(

The vietnam ice coffee. One of the best ice coffee in town. At least suits my taste lah. Hehe

Ice blended dragon fruit. What can i say? It is pure real dragon fruits, not artificial flavouring kind, with water or ice. But i think it would taste better if some milk added on. I’m still missing the mango juice from Vietnam Kitchen at One Utama. It is really pure mango juice with no water added. So concetrated. hehe

Mango and coconut pudding as replacement for cupcakes. One scoop of vanilla ice cream is topped at the pudding.

We sit down and talked and talked for about two hours. I shared my Bangkok trip experience and photos i took with Swei and Ching as they are going in couple of weeks.

After that we went to have light lunch. I brought them to New Newton Foodcourt near Plaza Mahkota. Ching once passedby here and comment that the ambiance here is quite good. So, just brought them to local foodcourt to have some local food.

Here are what we have….

One of the most famous popiah in Melaka. What make it so famous? The pork lards!!! haha

Taiwan style chee cheong fan. Different with HK style chee cheong fan. Here, they put curry and dark tomato sauce to the chee cheong fan and it is very little. Besides, there is minced pork wrapped inside the chee cheong fan other than normal prawns.

“Lei cha” biscuits. I don’t even know got such thing here. This is ordered by my fellow college friends. :-) Thin layer of the biscuits. At first i thought it is crunchy, but it is not. Quite lembik lembik one. But it does have fragrant of the lei cha. But the taste of the lei cha is not strong enough for those love lei cha, like me.

Squid satay. My first attempt. How embarassing hor!!?? But i still prefer pork satay lah. Hehe…

Lastly, my friends ordered fried oyster after seeing lots of people ordering. But it was really really bad and i really wonder why so much people ordering. I think this is the worst fried oyster in Melaka. I don’t even bother to take the photo.

Very full… let’s go for drinks and more chit chat session. Next, Nadeje Patisserie Cafe.

Rum raisin and original mille crepes.

Cheese and strawberry mille crepes.

My favourite among four… ranking is as follows:

1. rum raisin

2. original

3. cheese

4. strawberry

Long black coffee, only about RM2 or RM3 for every each mille crepe ordered. Not mine as i’m definitely do not favour dark or bitter taste coffee. :-S

Tea, also at about Rm2 or RM3 for every each mille crepe ordered. Nah, this is mine, tea lover! :-)

Forgot the name of this drink. Ordered by Lijun, who likes trying different thing. But she told me no taste one, like mineral water. Haha.

This tea time costs us more than RM60, for 4 pieces of mille crepe and drinks. Of course we sit down more than 2 hours here, if not how to recover the RM60? Typical auditor/accountant!! :-D

After that, we have a shopping session at Dataran Pahlawan. Lijun bought the most and we really wondered why she could spent so much in PDI Concept Store Melaka, but not in KL. I believe KL PDI Concept Store has more varieties and choices compare to Melaka loh. I bought one stylish sandals at 20% off. :-) Swei and Ching bought nothing as they were saving for Bangkok shopping spree!! hahaha.

After the shopping, it’s our dinner time  before my friends headed back to KL.

Dinner at the following post….

Bangkok – last day

No activities for last day. Although our flight is scheduled at 330pm Bangkok time, we just did our last minute shopping at Pratunam area. At first i really thought of going to Chatuchak market, but i worried we would be too rush for to and fro market – hotel – airport.

But something unlucky thing happened to me this morning when i was on my way to Platinum. :-( With everyone packed like sardine while walking down the street, my bag being cut without my notice. I just realised when i reached Platinum and wanted to take something from my bag. Ooouuchhh!!! It’s so hurt, because it is my new Naraya bag!!! I was so sad. But i consider lucky because the thief got nothing from my bag. I just lost my bag. :-( I tried to get a replacement bag from Platinum but none of them caught my eyes. At the end, we walked to Central World, Naraya to buy back the same design, same color bag. Haha… I just love it so much. I hardly buy bags or shoes, but once i eyeing on them, means i will definitely like it so much and buy.

We had our lunch at Central World foodcourt. But it was still early, about 1pm. As we had our full breakfast this morning, so we just share our lunch. Aimlessly walking round the foodcourt until i noticed this stewed pork leg rice again! I quickly asked hubby if he wants to have last stewed pork leg rice before we go back Malaysia. Then we shared this stewed pork leg rice. Haha. I just wonder why nobody selling this stewed pork leg rice in Malaysia, because it is just yummylicious and i believe would get support from Malaysian chinese. :-D If i have capital……hmmmm…..i would…

Then we took taxi back to Suvarnabumi Airport at about 1.30pm to avoid any traffic. But when we reached airport, i on my handphone only i received SMS from AirAsia informed us that our flight has been delayed 430pm. OMG!!! Means we have to stay in the airport for more than 2 hours. (O_o). So after checked-in, we walked around the airport. Then we went to have a cup of coffee at Black Canyon Coffee again. haha…you see… there are so many branches of Black Canyon Coffee in Bangkok.

Arrival of our flight, AK883.

Loading out the cargo from the plane.

So, basically my Bangkok trip is more to free and easy, no rushing. So it is quite relax, free and flexible. But i still got few places wanna go such as Chatuchak market, Suan Lum night market, Wat Pho, and Wat Arun. So i will definitely come back again to Bangkok. :-)

Bangkok – Day 3

As usual, we had our breakfast in the hotel. I don’t understand why hubby loves to take hotel breakfast although it is not so nice and the food is repeated one. But as we are not really picky on foods, so we doesn’t mind much also. Furthermore, we can save more for shopping and eat better food. :-D

I told hubby this morning i can walk up to Siam Paragon. So, we slowly walk and walk along the streets passby Central World, walked up the overhead bridge and we reached Siam Paragon. Siam Paragon is just like Pavillion in KL.

We saw lion dance outside the Platinum Fashion Mall. The culture here is very likely like chinese in Malaysia. They do have lion dance for opening ceremony too.

Outside of the Central World.

Finally we reached here….Siam Ocean World, largest aquarium at Southeast Asia. The entrance fee to Siam Ocean World is very expensive. Just entrance fee alone cost 850Bath. 990Bath if you take the package which includes 4D movie and ride at a glass bottom boat. So we ended up with paying 990Bath x 2 pax = 1980Bath. It’s super expensive. Imagine i can buy so much things with 1980Bath. My friend told me it is worth to visit even though it is expensive, because she told me there is souvenir given too. Trust her. We went in. But we get nothing but a voucher of a glass of pepsi and popcorn (O_o). Sigh….But nevermind, we did enjoy ourselves inside the Ocean World.

Fishes will following the boat we rode with the hope that we can feed them some food. Too bad, we did not buy the fish food to feed them, it costs 100Bath leh.

Not missing to ask the girl to snap a photo for us after riding at a glass bottom boat. We rarely take couple photo togather in this trip. Sigh… Luckily this ride is included in the package, if not i will suggest not to buy this package separately as it is really not worth. Just 5-mins ride with nothing.

What fish is this? Don’t ask me. I also don’t know. :-P

Little nemos around…So cutie…. Don’t you think so?

What fish is this? This fish is very ugly. :-( I think it is stone or wolf fish if i’m not wrong. He trapped in a lubang.

I like this ball ball fish tank. Not exactly fish tank. The fishes here are all being “awet”  to dry already. Some of the species here yet to be classfied.

Two of many ball tanks i taken. The fishes’ look here are all weird weird one. :-s

How’s the feeling touching the star fish dear? I dare not touch. Hehe…

Little fishes in this washing machine. They turned the washing machine into fish tank! What a creative idea!

Chevy fish tank!! haha…Hubby so excited when seeing this. His beloved car turned into fish tank!

TV tank. See hubby’s head inside? Haha…Hubby having lots of fun here. :-P

Fridge fish tank. I really salute Thai people. They can think all sort of ideas. Fuhyoh….

There were two tourists having fun diving with the sharks around. In fact, there is no sharks approaching them, unless you have some food for them. Then, i think the sharks would approach you. The kindy’s child were having fun saying “hi” with the people inside the big shark tank.

The kids are doing some activities…drawing the sharks!! So cute and adorable of them. :-)

Now…feeding time!! Feeding the giant turtles.

Baby turtles need to eat too. I want…i want…!

Feeding little penguins. The penguins are smart. Once they eat enough or full, they would not go and grab the food anymore, they will swim away, letting other penguins to eat.

Feeding big stingrays. The size of the stingray enough to cover them. Haha…Imagine how big it is. After looking this feeding stingray session, only i know the stingray eat cockles. (O_o)

Last one, shark feeding time. Besides shark, there is some stingray and other fishes too. But our focus point is sharks of course. Other fishes are so irritating to grab the food from sharks. You can see these two workers were being surrounded by big fishes such as stingrays and sharks!! All over them.

So after seeing this fishes had their lunch, our stomach also start to hint us. So we went to Paragon Foodcourt.

Stewed pork leg rice. It is so yummylicious i tell you. Must go and try if you go Paragon Foodcourt. Add exra egg with total cost of 650Bath only. Can you get such a good meal with such price at Pavillion KL? I’m missing this so much now. Hehe..

Hubby said wanna try chicken rice in Bangkok. Haha…i think he must regret because it is not nice at all. Dear, my stewed pork leg rice better. hehe

After our lunch, we walked walked around in Siam Paragon. You really can see the different classes of people here compared to MBK and Platinum. After that, we crossed the road to the opposite and noticed that there was some function held there. There was music band playing on the small stage at the street, people selling souvenirs, little cupcakes, ice-cream, t-shirts, hair accessories, etc, just like expo.

Only managed to ask hubby to take at least one photo here. Our battery is dying. >_<

I quite enjoyed walking around here. Seeing local people having fun indirectly makes me happy too. There are shoplots around here too. We took our time exploring here as we did not have other plan going any other place, as hubby not really interested to go shopping or market which selling all clothes again. :-( I so wanted to go Suan Lum Night Market dear…next time k!!

Our dinner time at Platinum again if i’m not mistaken. Hehe. Finally, i ordered this, sticky rice with mango. A must try food in Bangkok too. But it is not cheap. Costs us 900Bath. But taste wise, not bad, sweet sweet de… :-)

As we were not feeling hungry, so we ordered this seafood hotplate. As i said, as long as there is squid, hubby is very happy. :-) Besides squid, there is prawns, oysters, and kupang as well. But taste wise, exactly like the fried oyster we tried at the first day. :-(

After had our dinner, we did our last round shopping at Platinum, our shopping heaven lah. ;-) This time hubby bought a lot t-shirts oh, all are 3 pieces at 450Bath. Cheap leh.

Bangkok – Day 2

Our itinerary for 2nd day was visiting Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew temple.

After taken our breakfast in the hotel, we took taxi to Grand Palace. The taxi fare costs us 65Bath. I was so excited in the first place because i can see the place is so beautiful even from outside, with lots of tourists buses, taxis, tuk-tuks flooded outside the road. We went to the wrong entrance. Before we wanted to go in, there was a man approached us, showing us his authority pass and told us that we are not allowed to go in now as there was monks praying ceremony held inside. Only can enter at around 2pm. Looks friendly, asking us if we go Marble Temple and any other temples before. Without hesitate much, we said no. So very quickly he offered us 100Bath for bringing us to Marble Temple, Golden Mount Temple and another temple (i forgot what temple name) and coming back to Grand Palace before 2pm. We really thought it was quite a good deal since we cannot enter Grand Palace at that time. So, there is one tuk-tuk quickly come forward and fetch us to Golden Mount Temple. On the way going to Golden Mount Temple, i felt something wrong. Yes!! We were being cheated. :-S But nothing we can do already. So we just followed the plan, go to those temples, at least we went to some temples lah.

Two monks were praying at Golden Mount Temple. Actually there is nothing to fancy about of this Golden Mount Temple. Very simple temple, just one thing is you need to climb up long staircase up to the hill. You can see the Bangkok city scenery from the top hill. But i was a bit exhausted when reached top the hill. :-S

Lucky Buddha temple, just beside Golden Mount Temple.

After that, the tuk-tuk driver said can he brought us to gem shop. What can we say? Can we reject? He kept telling us we are not necessary to buy, just spend sometime there to enable him to get free petrol voucher. WTF!!! Okay…okay…to fulfill his requirement, so we did. We went in and see see one round. That’s it. Then he said another gem store. I know this would not the only store. True enough, he brought us to another gem store. Okay, one round, then we come out. Then he said another last one. I nearly scolded him. So i told him, last one, no more. So he agreed. After the third one, he said he wanna brought us to silk shop. (O_o) You broke your promise!!! You said last one. He kept persuade us to go the silk shop although we kept told him that don’t waste our time anymore. I cannot stand anymore and told him, no more. That is the last one. No more. I insisted with my strong tone. He noticed that, so he had no choice to brought us to the Marble Temple. We know that he was not happy. His attitude also changed.

When reached Marble Temple, he timed us said we only have 10minutes time. WTF!!! Before that, he was so kind, saying that he would wait us outside the temple and take our own sweet time exploring the temple. Now totally changed!! He really spoilt my mood.

Marble Temple. We did not enter to the temple as there is 20Bath entrance fee charged. So we just simply took some photos of the temple.

Then the tuk-tuk driver brought us back to Grand Palace. Paid 100Bath and bye-bye. We happily went to Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew then. :-)

Entrance fee for Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of Emerald Buddha) are 300Bath. Just increased from 250Bath recently.

Wat Phra Kaew from outside. I love the green field outside the temple. Very clean and nicely maintained.

Closer view of Wat Phra Kaew from outside.

Somewhere in the temple….

Golden pagoda. All in yellow golden color. Stood up elegantly.

Outside of the Emerald Buddha Temple (Wat Phra Kaew). The wall of the building is not painted, but with marbles, red, blue, green emeralds. Very stunning and pretty. Feel it with your bare hands, you won’t feel hot even under the sun, it’s cooling.

I must admit that the temple is very clean and well maintained by the authorities. So it is worth to pay 300Bath to pay a visit here.

I was stunned with the wall. All in golden and emeralds. One piece one piece plated to the wall. Amazing.

The house which houses the Emerald Buddha. Actually we are not allowed to snap photo inside. But this photo was taken outside, before we enter. Thanks to the powerful 18x zoom of my Panasonic Lumix FZ-28. *wink wink* I was more stunned when i enter in. Everybody is sitting infront of the Buddha statue and praying. I joined the crowd. Sitting down quietly and enjoy the peaceful feeling and atmosphere inside. It was beautiful inside. All in golden colors. The wall is beutifully painted with sceneries and stories behind it.

In one of the hall/temple. Actually we are not allowed to take photo too. But hubby secretly pressed the button of the camera hanging at his neck. haha. A small golden boat. I do not what this golden boat resembles for. :-P

Somewhere in the temple. All the buildings here are nicely built and maintained until today.

One of the building inside. I do not know the name of this building. Sorry. But is is quite pretty for me. We are not allowed to enter here, this photo was taken before the gate.

Oh…oh…oh….i love this building. Chakri Mahaprasad Hall, a building in a style influenced by the Italian Renaissance. Don’t you think it is so beautiful. You can see eastern temple combined with western style building here. It is unique to me.

Garden and path just right infront of the Chakri Mahaprasad Hall. Very western style right?

The guard infront of the hall, prohibiting people to go inside. Standing fiercely without any single move. But i’m pity of them, have to stand straight, no move under the hot sun. :-(

Outside of the museum (The museum is in this big Chakri Mahaprasad Hall). Included are all the weapons used by the soldiers old days. Not really interested, so i just walked walked and enjoy the scenery outside this hall, while hubby went inside to the museum.

We spent about 2-3 hours exploring here. Actually our original plan was to visit Wat Pho (Temple of Sleeping Buddha) which is just nearby (we do not know the exact place thou), but both of us were tired after been rode in tuk-tuk this morning. So we gave up our Wat Pho plan and took taxi to Central World.

I was surprised when i see Central World, because it is such a huge shopping malls. The shopping malls are as long as one street. Togather with Central World are Zen and Isetan. We straight went to Foodcourt to take our lunch.

Foodcourt system here is slightly different with Platinum Fashion Mall. Here, you are given a card in order to buy the food at the entrance to the foodcourt. You are only required to pay after you returned the card to the cashier when you go out from the foodcourt.

I went round the foodcourt so many times, yet i could not decide what to have for my lunch. Obviously no more tomyam goong for me! :-P

Here is my lunch. Erm…what is this…pork thai noodles in spicy soup. Yes. It is indeed spicy after i added on more chillies. hehe…

Hubby could not take too much spicy food, he finally ordered this. Japanese kabayaki fish rice. People here are so generous with the dishes. The fish here are so big in portion compared to we have in Malaysia.

Finally hubby could has his favourite street food at this Central World, pork hotdog. Look how happy he was before eating. But the taste wise, we really not used to it or maybe we chose the wrong flavour. It seems like got garlic inside. Both of us can’t even finish one. :-(

After our lunch, we walked walked around Central World aimlessly. Why? Because the shops here are quite high class and branded one. I’m not go for branded stuff if you know me. So, Central World is not our place. Hehe… Just walked walked and see see around. But i did go to Naraya!!! My friend told me so many times that i must go Naraya. I did go Naraya website to see what is all about. The uniqueness of this shop is the fabric they use to produce their products. When i got into the shop, i saw everybody shopping like no tomorrows (O_O) I thought of joining the fun too. But i round so many times, even though the things are cheap, but i could not find something that i really like and usable for me. Finally i bought a handbag, square size, white color, at 320Bath. The only bag that i see i like at first sight. So i bought it. :-) Hubby also round so many times in order to buy something, do not want to be empty-handed going back mah. At last, hubby brought 5 pieces of flowery door knob cover to me and saying that he wanted to buy this for our new house. I was like…what? New house? oh…ok…haha….He brought to me all 5 different design. But i changed all to one same design. hehe…Dear…i prefer one same design for one house, so would not looks so messy mah, don’t you think so? *wink wink*

After that, we walked to MBK mall, knowing that it is just nearby, so keep asking for direction. We skipped Siam Paragon, Siam Centre knowing  that both of these malls not our cup of tea too. MBK is very similar with our Sungai Wang mall in KL.

Ice cream fondae from Swensen. My leg was so tired of walking. Once i see ice cream, i nagged nagged hubby saying wanted to sit down to have ice cream. hehe

After having enough ice cream and rest, we continued to walk. Finally, i able to buy a bag at 199Bath. It is dirt cheap. I saw the similar bag at 1-U last time and so tempted to buy. The price at 1-U is RM49.90. But now i able to get it at 199Bath!! Hubby bought a buddha faced wall decoration thing at 300Bath. The salesgirl quoted 450Bath initially. So i asked for 300Bath. She refused initially and offered us 350Bath. We walked away but she pulled us back and said OK. Yes, this is the price we are willing to pay for this. Again, for our new house huh, hubby? Haha… I kept looking for fridge magnet but the price here is quite expensive and no one fridge magnet that attracts me. Finally i able to buy some small cute coin purse cum keychain for some of my friends. Sorry guys, i used up most of my cash, do not exchange much cash, so hope you guys don’t mind if you don’t get my little souvenir. :-S

Pork samurai burger from McD. Yeah…finally i have the opportunity to try this, pork samurai burger. We were still quite full, so we just bought one set and share. :-)

Our dinner, Tomyam goong with rice at MBK foodcourt. Again, we shared this. But i still prefer the tomyam goong at Platinum. More yummylicious. :-)

After the dinner, we took taxi back to hotel, even though we know that our hotel just two streets down. But my leg was not permit me to walk anymore dear. So we took taxi back hotel, which costs us about 500Bath.

That’s all for second day.

Third day is Siam Ocean World visiting and shopping again. Stay tuned… :-)
